Mark Edward Smith was born in Morocco in 1942 in an English family. In 1973 he moved to Venice and more than thirty years he has been a professional photographer, specialized in reportage, travel, arts, architecture and nude. He took part in 25 individual and 5 collective exhibitions. He published 40 books in Italy, United Kingdom, France, U.S.A., Germany, Korea and Japan. Main press: New York Times, The Times, Herald Tribune, Harpers Bazar, Life, Paris Match, Geo, Marian, Winds, Weekend, Dove, Bell'Italia, Bell'Europa, FMR, Meridiani, Focus, Ligabue Magazine, Gente Viaggi, Tuttoturismo, etc. For seven years he has been teaching digital photography at International School of Graphics in Venice and reportage at the ISFAV in Padua. He works with analogic cameras with a complete range of lenses and with a digital camera extremely high resolution EOS 1Ds Mark II. The archive is composed by 700.000 transparencies, 25.000 of which scanned and 15.000 digital.
